Created from a heart string
Because most of us don’t understand nutrition and food allergies as much as we could, I've created a place you can go for inspiration, knowledge and resources.
Why Focus on Nutrition?
Did you know 80% of our immune system is in our gut? That’s why it’s so important to consistently eat foods that build and support our immune system. It's all about inflammation!
There is also a need to understand and respect nutrition and not be afraid of the word “diet”. Diet simply means "assembly of food." Think of your "diet" as your personal lifestyle not a sentence to lose weight. That will happen on its own when you make positive changes in your diet. I managed to lose over 50 pounds and have successfully kept it off for 20 years.
Approach to Healing
General healthcare tends to consists of limited visits with your doctor; in most cases 10 minutes and usually after you have been living with a “symptom” for a long period of time. It's important to be "pro-active" with your health before you feel the "symptoms" because usually when you get to that point, you already have some damage or disease.
Pharmaceuticals have become a large part of our daily routines and at times dominate our lives. Here’s something to consider. Next time you fill your prescription take a minute to read the fine print with the “side effects" and ask yourself if there is a way you can improve your life by changing your diet first.
The Heart String
After 40 years struggling with chronic Migraines, dealing with Sjogrens Syndrome (Auto Immune Disease caused by inflammation), IBS, Asthma and a slew of other ailments and frustrations, I decided to finally take control.
Although I had been committed to health and fitness for over 20 years, I realized I was missing a key element. I didn't know enough about food allergies and nutrition. I never believed food could have such a critical impact on our health!
With an evaluation and a few simple tests, I was able to find the “underlying cause” of my symptoms. I am allergic to dairy and have a severe intolerance to gluten. By changing my "diet" and adding essential supplements I was able to eliminate prescriptions all together for migraines, arthritis, allergies, asthma and IBS. In addition, amazement to the doctors, my Sjogrens is under control.
It's not an easy path by all means and is an ongoing commitment to yourself but I can tell you with confidence, it is well worth the effort!
I have dedicated my life to this and hope my experience and inspiration can be an asset to your journey as well.
